DESCRIPTION

Right at the beginning of the lockdown, the pivot from in-person to online learning happened within a day. Our team worked across the Gordon College campus directors to create remote living and learning resources for students while they tackle the new way of attending classes.

illustrations

A sudden remote learning adjustment is an unprecedented experience for most students. So our team wanted to make sure that the resources that are give are ones that soothe any kind of worry and anxiety. Therefore, the color palette, shapes, and subject matter of the illustrations I've created were very intentional in its calming and friendly nature. I wanted to make sure that when students looked at the resources, that they would feel reassured that learning-from-home, though not everyone's ideal, is something that is accessible for them.

social media

Alongside the remote living and learning website resource page rollout, our team also created a mini social media campaign with some learning-from-home pro tips. Taking on the illustration style of the website, I made sure that all of the slides and posts feel cohesive to those the students will see on the website.

final thoughts

This project was quite the whirlwind. From start to finish, our team was able to make this resource live on Gordon College's website within the first few days of lockdown. Like most projects highlighted here, this project required a lot of trust and dedication from my team. I'm thankful that my team trusted in my ability to crank out illustrations speedily and allowed me the creative space to ideate and execute this project seamlessly.
